Larry and Barbara Magnuson
Larry Magnuson is the CEO of
SonScape Retreats. Barbara and Larry are also
Ministry Directors and retreat leaders. They have a
combined 60 years of ministry experience having
served in a variety of pastoral roles including 13
years as the founding Pastor of Maple Grove Covenant
Church in Minnesota. Larry is an ordained pastor in
the Evangelical Covenant Church.
Larry and Barbara have been married
for more than 30 years and have four adult children.

Mike and Sandy Schafer
 Mike
Schafer is the COO of SonScape Retreats. Mike and
Sandy also serve as retreat leaders for SonScape.
They have a combined 52 years of ministry experience
in a variety of church settings including small
rural churches and a large city church. Mike is an
ordained pastor in the United Methodist Church.
Mike and Sandy have
been married for 27 years. They have one married
son, one son at home, and one grandchild.

Bob and Jeanne Blahnik
Bob and Jeanne Blahnik live in
Indianapolis, Indiana and serve as traveling retreat
leaders for SonScape Retreats. They have a combined
20 years of lay ministry and 35 years of pastoral
ministry experience in local churches. Bob received
his Master of Divinity from Denver Seminary.
Bob and Jeanne have been married
more than 30 years. They have three married children
and three grandchildren.

Al Cooper
 Al
Cooper is the Vice President of Development of
SonScape Retreats. Al came to SonScape in
September of 2005 from Rockford, Illinois. Al
has 30 years of sales experience and fundraising
experience. Al oversees all aspects of
development including donor relations, special
events and grant writing.
Al and his wife, Dee Dee, have been married for over
30 years and have three adult children.

Vicki Ceass
 Vicki
Ceass serves as the Retreat Coordinator for
SonScape Retreats. She is the first point of
contact for most pastors calling to inquire about
the ministry. She answers questions, allays
fears and encourages those who need to come.
For over 15 years she has served in various lay
leadership roles at Maple Grove Covenant Church with
an emphasis on worship ministry. She joined
the SonScape team in 2008 as retreat coordinator.
Vicki and her husband, George, have been married
over 30 years and have two adult children and one
grandchild.

Perry and Jeanien Meyer
 Perry
Meyer is the Vice President of Operations and
Facilities and Jeanien is the Facilities Director.
They have spent most of their working careers in the
secular world, Perry working in the computer field
and Jeanien in various office-related positions.
For 9 years they served in various lay leadership
positions at Maple Grove Covenant Church with an
emphasis on worship ministry. They were asked to join the SonScape team
in 2004 to manage
the operational aspects of the ministry.
Perry and Jeanien have been married over 25 years
and have two adult children.

Bob and Sandy Sewell (Founders/Retired)
Rev. Bob and Sandy Sewell founded SonScape in
1984. After guiding the ministry for 22 years,
they retired in the summer of 2006.
Bob and Sandy have been married for more than 40
years and have two children and three grandchildren.
